Sciatica is a symptom in which patients feel excruciating pain in their back that shoots to the legs and feet. There are different types of sciatica treatment. On initial stages when pain is low, analgesics, muscle relaxants, and NSAIDs are prescribed to the patients. In the next stage, physical-therapy is done on the patient to reduce the sciatic pain by reducing the pressure on the nerves. It involves a number of exercises. Usually, it consists of stretching exercises that improves the flexibility of the tight muscles and aerobics like walking. Surgery is suggested by the doctor if the patient does not respond to conservative treatment and shows progressing symptoms. Most people also take help from non-allopathic ways like yoga and acupuncture for Sciatica treatment. On the whole, the type of treatment that is prescribed to patients mainly depends on the level of pain they have. Medicines are good enough to reduce mild pain, while for shooting pain strong treatment is prescribed.
